This bedroom tea party was to be my celebratory CC birthday submission…but alas that time has passed. Sometimes our lives collide in the most bizarre ways & falling down this rabbit-hole definitely took me on a journey I’d never have expected. I didn’t want to detract from the wondrous sentiment floating around Tumblr (& what more could I add), but I ALWAYS submitted with Lioness in mind. The notion of submitting or entering a popularity contest has never really sat easily with me. My motivation for posting was to be liked…by Lioness. I know it’s pathetic given she’s a complete stranger on the other side of the planet, but I sought her approval. Moreover, if I actually thought about the reality of taking naked pictures my brain would fry, so instead I narrowed the scope to sharing a piece of me with her. For me, CC was an emotionally charged arena for sharing stories of self. But the problem with that, was the bigger CC became, the less there was of Lioness. My need to be appreciated was pushing out the Queen of Coffee, who really was just Alice in Wonderland. And I’m sorry.
Please enjoy my CC, but not CC submission.
